A Better Crewkerne & District (ABCD) is a voluntary group of representatives of the community & local organisations such as the Schools, the Heritage Centre, Chamber of Commerce & the Local Information Centre to name but a few.  The Town, District & County Councils also send representatives to the meetings. We are ably supported by Zoe Harris the Community Regeneration Officer of South Somerset District Council.

In 2009 we merged with ACCESS (which is now defunct) and became a Charitable Trust with the continued aim of working in partnership with a number of organisations on a range of projects to enhance & improve Crewkerne & its environs.  Charitable Trust Status gives us the possible opportunity to access grants not otherwise available to other organisations.

ABCD meets six times a year in the Heritage Centre.  We have set up a series of working parties who meet regularly to develop and forward identified projects. These then report back to the full group meetings. We have found that these smaller project groups allow us to function more efficiently. At present they are focussing on projects in Crewkerne itself.
